YakDriver's Peach Cobbler
This is our favorite campfire cobbler recipe. A little Blue Bell vanilla ice cream on top makes all right with the world.

Instructions
  1. Pre-heat Dutch oven to 350 degrees
  2. Dump peaches and juice into Dutch oven.
  3. Dissolve cornstarch into water and stir into peaches
  4. Sprinkle sugar, covering the peaches
  5. Cover and simmer while preparing the crust.
  6. Mix dry ingredients and butter into a bowl.
  7. Add approximately 1/2 of the condensed milk into the bowl and mix.
  8. Add more milk, as needed, until you get a soft dough.
  9. On a floured surface, pat the dough out until it is about 1/2 inch thick.
  10. Cut the dough into 1 inch strips.
  11. Crisscross the dough strips over the filling.
  12. Cover and bake for 20 minutes, or until the crust is brown.
Recipe Notes

As a rule of thumb for this recipe, I use 7 coals in a ring around the bottom edge of the Dutch oven and 14 evenly spaced coals around the rim of the lid.
